Perry Ferguson Jr.

GRANDVIEW — Perry Thomas Ferguson Jr., 56, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Born in Rockwood, Tenn., he was the son of the late Perry Thomas and Mamie Atkinson Ferguson Sr. Perry was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1971, and Roane State Community College. He was an employed by TVA for 20 years working at Watts Bar, Eastern Area Radiological Lab and retired from the Central Lab of TVA. Upon his retirement from TVA, he became Public Works Director for the Town of Spring City. Perry was currently employed by the city of Chattanooga Public Works Department as the Wastewater Project Coordinator.

He was president of the Spring City Cemetery Association, past president of the Spring City Chamber of Commerce and of the Methodist faith. Perry loved playing bluegrass music.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Sarah Snively Ferguson, of Grandview; stepchildren, John (Tami) Lee, of Knoxville, David Lee, of Orlando, Fla., and Allison (Joust Van Haren) Lee, of Tucson, Ariz.; and three stepgrandchildren, Fiona and Nadine Van Haren, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Alexander Lee, of Knoxville.

A celebration of Perry’s life will be held today, Jan. 16, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with friends sharing stories and memories of Perry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spring City Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 129, Spring City, TN 37381.
